Seven individuals have asserted their innocence in connection to the tragic death of a woman who was fatally shot at a block of apartments in south Wales. Joanne Penney was discovered severely injured at Green Park in Talbot Green, Rhondda Cynon Taf, on 9th March, and tragically passed away at the scene. The incident led to the arrest of eight individuals, with seven of them making an appearance at Cardiff Crown Court on Monday, during which a trial date was scheduled for 20th October.

A preliminary inquiry in March revealed that the 40-year-old victim succumbed to her injuries caused by a gunshot wound to the chest, resulting in severe damage to her heart and lung. Emergency services swiftly responded to the distress call at Llys Illtyd flats on 9th March and discovered Ms. Penney in critical condition. Emotional tributes poured in from neighbors who laid flowers at the scene while the victim’s family expressed their profound grief, emphasizing that her kindness, resilience, and affection for her loved ones would forever be cherished.

Among the seven defendants arraigned in court were Marcus Huntley, Sai Raj Manne, Kristina Ginova, Joshua Gordon, Jordan Mills-Smith, Tony Porter, and Molly Cooper, all facing charges related to murder and involvement in criminal activities of an organized group. Melissa Quailey-Dashper, aged 39 and from Leicester, who is also implicated in the crime, did not attend the court hearing.
