The government aims to reduce hospital waiting lists and streamline patient care through these initiatives.
The Nuffield Trust CEO highlights the importance of ensuring that moving care closer to home does not compromise the quality of care provided. While funding for the new services will come from a £29 billion boost to NHS funding, concerns remain about workforce shortages and funding sources. The plan also includes measures to encourage GPs to use AI for note-taking, require newly-qualified dentists to work for the NHS, and expand the scope of dental therapists’ roles.
