Dyfed-Powys Police revealed that they had received a report about a man’s safety after he was last spotted swimming in the river in Glasbury, Powys on Monday. Following a joint search effort on 1 July, law enforcement officers located the body of Lord Lipsey, aged 77.

The police have informed the deceased peer’s next of kin and have requested that the family’s privacy be respected during this difficult time. Lord Lipsey, who hailed from Dorset, resided in Powys and served as a patron of the Glasbury Arts Festival. Prior to his time in the House of Lords starting in 1999, he had a successful career as a journalist, working for esteemed publications like The Times, The Guardian, and The Economist.
