A special ceremony was held at Leamington Spa railway station to honor Jess Carter, with guests including teachers and students from her former secondary school. Rachel Cole, a teacher at Myton School, expressed admiration for Jess’s journey from a talented all-round athlete in school to a key player in the World Cup final. The school community is proud of her achievements and will be enthusiastically supporting her and the Lionesses in the upcoming tournament.

Described as a polite, responsible, and versatile player on the field, Jess Carter’s career began at Birmingham City where she signed at the age of 16. A pivotal member of the England squad that secured the Euro 2022 trophy, Carter’s dedication to the sport has been recognized through the naming of the train after her. The “Jess Carter” train is part of the Class 196 fleet that was introduced in 2022, serving various routes including Shrewsbury, Hereford, Worcester, Nuneaton, Coventry, and Leamington Spa.
