Seven charged with GBH after Iran embassy protest

Following a protest outside the Iranian embassy in London, seven men have been charged with grievous bodily harm after two individuals were reportedly assaulted. The incident occurred in Princes Gate in Knightsbridge, west London and was responded to by officers shortly after 09:50 BST on Friday. Additional police were deployed to the scene to manage the situation. Two men, aged 37 and 39, sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the altercation.

A total of eight individuals were arrested in connection to the incident, with one of them being the 39-year-old who was taken to the hospital. On Saturday, seven of those arrested were charged with causing grievous bodily harm and were remanded into custody until they are scheduled to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Monday. The men facing charges hail from various parts of the country, including London, Liverpool, and Birmingham. The remaining individual who was arrested is currently in the hospital and has been bailed.

In order to prevent any further disorder outside the Iranian embassy, authorities have implemented conditions prohibiting protesters from gathering in the area until 13:00 BST on Sunday. The measures are aimed at maintaining peace and order in the vicinity following the incident.
