Darren Pardoe, a maintenance worker in Cornwall, recently experienced a bizarre encounter with a seagull while installing anti-bird spikes in Porthleven. As he took a coffee break at a local pub on June 3rd, the opportunistic bird swooped in and helped itself to his drink. Before he could react, the audacious seagull grabbed the mug and flew off, leaving Mr. Pardoe stunned.
In a humorous twist of events, Mr. Pardoe joked that the seagull must have “remembered” him from a previous encounter. Recounting the incident, he described how the bird nonchalantly dipped its beak into his coffee before seizing the cup by its handle and making a swift getaway across the harbor. Despite his attempts to retrieve the stolen mug, the seagull managed to land on the water and watch as the cup disappeared beneath the surface.
