The government’s announcement in late May unveiled a substantial increase in the CIF package for 2025-26, totaling £470 million compared to the previous year’s £423.9 million, according to the Department for Education. Education Secretary Bridget Phillipson emphasized the broader impact of this investment, highlighting its role in demonstrating the value and importance of education for children and their future prospects. Local MP Sarah Jones from Croydon West acknowledged the funding as a critical measure to ensure schools have safe and modern facilities, reflecting the government’s dedication to education in the region.
