Sir Rod Stewart has had to cancel several concerts in the United States as he recuperates from the flu, in preparation for his Glastonbury legends performance later this month. The 80-year-old rock icon is scheduled to take the highly sought-after teatime slot on Sunday, 29 June, marking a return to the Somerset festival after a 23-year absence.

On Instagram, Sir Rod expressed his regret over having to cancel four shows and reschedule two others within the next eight days. He conveyed his apologies to his fans, saying, “I’m devastated and sincerely apologise for any inconvenience to my fans. I’ll be back on stage and will see you soon,” signing off as “Sir Rod” with a heartbreak emoji.

Despite previous plans to shift away from large-scale world tours by 2025, the singer remains excited to perform at Glastonbury, emphasizing his readiness to entertain the audience. He mentioned his intention to play beyond his allotted time on stage, requesting an additional 15 minutes to cater to his usual two-hour-long performances.
