Liverpool is gearing up for its most significant annual event designed for parents, carers, and professionals involved with children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). The highly anticipated SEND Local Offer LIVE is making its return for the fifth consecutive year at the iconic St George’s Hall on Wednesday, June 18. The event aims to bring together a diverse range of providers, organizations, professionals, families, and carers in a vibrant marketplace setting.
A record-breaking 85 providers, organizations, and teams will be participating in this year’s event. Some of the notable attendees include Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, SENDIASS/Young Carers, Preparing for Adulthood Team, EHCP Assessment Team, and The Brain Charity, among many others. Doors will open from noon until 6 pm, and entry is free for all attendees. The event has been expertly organized by the Liverpool Parent Carer Forum (LivPaC) in collaboration with Liverpool City Council, the NHS, and third-sector organizations.
Liverpool City Council has recently unveiled its transformative SEND Graduated Approach Toolkit, aimed at revolutionizing the way professionals interact with children and young people with SEND. Cllr Joanne Kennedy, the Cabinet Member for Employment, Educational Attainment, and Skills, expressed her excitement for the upcoming SEND Local Offer LIVE event at St George’s Hall. Kennedy emphasized the importance of professionals, families, and carers attending to meet the wide array of providers and services offering essential advice and support in Liverpool. Donna Phipps of LivPaC echoed similar sentiments, highlighting the value of the event in bringing the Local Offer website to life and improving attendees’ understanding of how to support young people with SEND
