New Nursing Care Provider at Two Liverpool Care Homes

A new nursing care provider has been appointed by the Liverpool City Council to offer exceptional support to residents at the Millvina Nursing Home in Anfield and Brushwood Nursing Home in Speke. After a rigorous and competitive tender process, a 12-month contract was granted to Primary Care 24 (PC24). Their approach, which focuses on innovation and putting individuals at the center of care, is in line with the Council’s vision for the future of Adult Social Care. PC24 will officially commence operations this week, ensuring a seamless transition for both residents and staff.

Last year, the Council took charge of managing the homes, and Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust provided nursing care after the previous provider chose to step back. However, Mersey Care informed the Council that they would not be continuing their nursing care service beyond May 2025, prompting the need to find a new provider. PC24’s proposal was chosen for its high quality, deep understanding of the local care landscape, and unwavering commitment to collaborating with the Council to improve the residents’ lives.

Liverpool City Council’s Cabinet Member for Adult Social Services, Councillor Angela Coleman, expressed delight in appointing Primary Care 24 (PC24) as the new nursing care provider for Millvina and Brushwood care homes. She emphasized PC24’s proven track record in delivering top-notch, person-centered care, and expressed confidence in their ability to be an excellent partner in aiding residents and staff. The Deputy Chief Executive and Corporate Director of Adult Care and Health at Liverpool City Council hailed the appointment as a significant milestone in bolstering nursing care across the city’s care homes. PC24’s expertise was recognized as being perfectly suited to provide high-quality and compassionate care to the residents.

Dave Horsfield, the Chief Executive for Primary Care 24, shared his enthusiasm for being selected as the new nursing care provider for Brushwood and Millvina House Nursing Homes. He expressed eagerness to closely collaborate with Liverpool City Council to guarantee residents receive top-notch care and aid in a smooth transition for all parties involved
