Human remains found in Derby in search for woman missing since 2010

A woman who went missing 15 years ago, Izabela Helena Zablocka, is now the center of a murder investigation as human remains have been discovered, according to police. Izabela, who moved to the UK from Poland in 2009, was reported missing in May sparking an investigation by Derbyshire Police. The search led authorities to an address in Princes Street in Normanton, Derby, where human remains were found in the garden, believed to be those of the missing woman. Four people have been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the case.

Following the arrest and subsequent release on bail of a 39-year-old woman over the weekend, police have mentioned that she has been re-arrested. Three other individuals, including another 39-year-old woman, a 43-year-old woman, and a 41-year-old man, are also on bail as further inquiries are conducted. Izabela’s family in Poland lost contact with her in August 2010, leading to a continuous search for her which unfortunately never resulted in finding her, as confirmed by the police.

Despite the official confirmation of the remains belonging to Izabela not yet taking place, police believe that they have indeed found her. Detectives are in the process of gathering details about the events leading up to her death. Authorities are asking for the public’s cooperation, encouraging anyone who may have information about Izabela from July or August 2010 to come forward as they might have crucial information in solving the case. Crimestoppers has put up a £20,000 reward for any information that could contribute to the conviction of a suspect in the case.

It is a challenging time for Izabela’s family, as they are informed about the developments in the investigation. Despite the identification process potentially being a lengthy one, police have assured the public that updates will be provided when available. Officers will maintain a presence in Princes Street ensuring the community’s safety and address any concerns they may have. The local community has been rocked by the news, and authorities are working diligently to bring closure to Izabela’s case
