Graphic footage of Ross Monaghan shooting broadcast on Spanish TV

A chilling gangland shooting in a Spanish bar was captured on CCTV, revealing the final moments of victim Ross Monaghan. The incident took place at Monaghans bar in Fuengirola on the Costa del Sol following the gunning down of Eddie Lyons Jr, 46, outside. Graphic footage showed Monaghan, with blood seeping through his white t-shirt from a chest wound, propping himself up on a table before collapsing. Both victims were major figures in Glasgow’s Lyons crime clan.

The CCTV footage from the bar depicted a gunman dressed in black chasing the critically-injured Monaghan before he stumbled and fell to the ground. The footage also showed two bystanders running away from the suspect, believed to be a waitress and another man in black. The gunman, who was wearing a black baseball cap, a black jacket, black shorts, and a white t-shirt wrapped around his neck to conceal his face, fled on foot after the shooting.

Following the incident, Spanish detectives initiated an investigation into the murder of the two men. Monaghan, the owner of the pub, was a suspect in the 2010 murder of Kevin “Gerbil” Carroll in Glasgow, a case that later collapsed. The shooter managed to escape on foot and reunite with an accomplice in a car awaiting them at the murder scene. Spanish National Police’s Anti-Drug and Organised Crime Unit are leading the investigation under a local judge’s coordination.

The double murder in Fuengirola comes amidst a spate of violence in Glasgow and Edinburgh, which has led to over 30 arrests since March. The incident follows the shooting of a British man in Calahonda nearly six weeks prior, adding to the surge of violent incidents on the Costa del Sol. The victims of the latest shooting have not been named, with investigations still ongoing and no arrests made as of yet
