Ewan Somerville & Euan O’Byrne Mulligan reported that prosecutors have officially listed the 21 charges that Andrew and Tristan Tate will face upon their return to the UK. The charges include rape, actual bodily harm, and human trafficking. The Crown Prosecution Service disclosed that they authorized the charges against the brothers in 2024, preceding an extradition warrant issued to bring them back from Romania. Despite facing multiple charges in Romania, the CPS emphasized that the brothers must first resolve the domestic criminal matters in Romania before facing the charges in the UK.
Andrew Tate, a 38-year-old influencer and former kickboxer, will face 10 charges related to three alleged victims, including rape, actual bodily harm, human trafficking, and controlling prostitution for profit. On the other hand, Tristan Tate, 36, will face 11 charges linked to one alleged victim, consisting of rape, actual bodily harm, and human trafficking. The brothers, born in the US but raised in Luton, UK, with their mother post their parents’ divorce, have garnered significant online following, with Andrew boasting over 10 million followers on X, showcasing his lavish lifestyle of fast cars, private jets, and yachts.
The siblings were initially arrested in Romania in December 2022, with Andrew accused of rape and human trafficking, and Tristan suspected of human trafficking. Subsequently, in August 2024, they faced additional allegations in Romania, including sex with a minor and trafficking underage individuals, all of which they contested. Additional accusations arose when they were detained in Bucharest in March 2024 after Bedfordshire Police secured an arrest warrant regarding allegations of rape and trafficking.
The Tate brothers’ legal representatives asserted that the UK allegations stemmed from the period between 2012 and 2015. Despite vehemently denying all charges, the Tates were subject to a Romanian court ruling that dictated extradition to the UK only after the ongoing procedures in Romania were concluded. Following their release from custody and the unexpected lift of a two-year travel ban earlier this year, the brothers flew from Romania to Florida by private jet in February 2025. They eventually returned to Romania in March 2025, asserting that innocent men do not flee from accusations. Andrew expressed intent to clear his name in both Romania and the UK, although his future residency plans remained undisclosed
