Alan Yentob, a prominent figure in the world of BBC arts broadcasting and documentary-making, has passed away at the age of 78.
Throughout his career, Yentob had the privilege of profiling and interviewing an array of significant cultural and creative individuals. His work included featuring the likes of David Bowie, Charles Saatchi, Maya Angelou, and Grayson Perry in popular TV series such as Omnibus, Arena, and Imagine.
In addition to his role as a broadcaster and filmmaker, Yentob took on important leadership positions within the BBC. He served as the controller of BBC One and Two, as well as assuming the roles of the organization’s creative director and head of music and arts.
