'Lives at stake' in Balfron Tower with broken lifts

The Balfron Tower, a noted brutalist high-rise in east London, has left residents stranded in their homes due to the failure of both lifts in the 26-storey building. Sophie Ruston, who resides on the 21st floor and has an elderly dog, expressed worries about the situation and the difficulties it poses for her and her disabled neighbors.

Despite the lift issues, Way of Life has been delivering essential supplies to residents while both lifts are out of service. In response to the residents’ concerns, a spokesperson for the company issued an apology and reassured that an investigation is underway. Way of Life emphasized that the behavior reported by residents does not align with the company’s values and standards.
