UBUNTU by Bridges for Music to bring Afro house, Afrobeats and amapiano to EDC Las Vegas

Bridges for Music, a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering youth from marginalized communities, has announced an exciting new collaboration with EDC Las Vegas. This partnership will introduce a stage named UBUNTU by Bridges for Music at the highly anticipated Electric Daisy Carnival event taking place this weekend from May 16 to 18. The stage will showcase a diverse lineup of music from Africa and its diaspora, offering festival-goers a unique and culturally rich experience.

Featuring 21 talented artists, the UBUNTU stage will include performances by Uncle Waffles, a amapiano sensation from Eswatini, DJ Lag, a pioneering gqom artist from South Africa, and acclaimed Afro house icons Da Capo and Kasango. Other artists scheduled to perform include Sarz, a renowned Nigerian Afrobeats producer, KILIMANJARO, a rising star hailing from Zambia and Scotland, Kitty Amor, a pivotal figure in London’s music scene, and AQUTIE, a DJ of South African-Guinean descent based in New York. The stage’s name, UBUNTU, is inspired by the Bantu African philosophy of shared humanity and communal responsibility.

Valentino Barrioseta, the founder of Bridges for Music, expressed the significance of this partnership by stating, “This collaboration between EDC and Bridges for Music goes beyond just music; it’s about creating an impact and fostering a sense of community. The effects of this collaboration will be felt far beyond Las Vegas, reaching grassroots levels.” Barrioseta emphasized the transformative power of music and highlighted how the artists on the lineup are at the forefront of inspiring change and empowering the next generation.
