According to a statement posted on X by London Stansted Airport at 06:20 BST, a number of airport systems, such as check-in, baggage, and security, were affected by the ongoing IT problem. The statement informed passengers that the issue had been resolved, but warned that some arrivals and departures may still be subject to delays.
One passenger, who preferred to remain anonymous, shared her experience of being stuck in queues at the terminal for several hours, causing her to miss her flight. She mentioned arriving at the Essex airport at 04:45 to find passengers already queuing “out the door.” Describing the situation, she stated, “The queue for security was out the door and around the corner.” Frustrated by the delay, the woman decided to leave after waiting for over two hours, as her flight to Greece was boarding without the other passengers.
London Stansted Airport informed passengers through their post that engineers were working diligently to restore all systems fully as soon as possible. An update was provided at 10:41, indicating that departing flights might still face delays despite resolving the IT issue. The airport apologized to passengers for the inconvenience caused and suggested that they stay in contact with their respective airlines for further guidance on their flights
