Rebekah Vardy agrees to pay £1.2m of Coleen Rooney's legal costs

Rebekah Vardy has agreed to cover almost £1.2 million of Coleen Rooney’s legal expenses resulting from their libel dispute, as revealed by a judge. Mrs. Rooney managed to accumulate a legal bill exceeding £1.8 million while successfully defending herself against Mrs. Vardy’s claim in the High Court in 2022, as previously disclosed by a specialist costs court. Legal representatives for Mrs. Rooney countered in their written statements that Mrs. Vardy was responsible for her own predicament and should reassess her approach. Judge Whalan additionally expressed his satisfaction at the agreement reached by both parties as a “commercial understanding”. Notably, Mrs. Rooney is the wife of former England footballer Wayne Rooney, while Mrs. Vardy is married to his ex-teammate Jamie Vardy, with both women having transitioned into celebrity and television personalities in their own right
