Liverpool City Council’s leader, Councillor Liam Robinson, has extended a formal invitation to Liverpool Football Club to parade through the city’s streets in honor of their 20th English league title victory. Following the triumph over Tottenham Hotspur, the City Council has approved plans for the Premier League trophy parade to take place on Bank Holiday Monday, 26 May, starting at 2.30 pm.
Months of meticulous planning have been underway behind the scenes to organize a parade of such magnitude, expected to be witnessed by hundreds of thousands of people. The parade route will kick off at Allerton Maze and proceed northbound along Queens Drive, covering a 15km stretch through various streets before concluding at Blundell Street.
Supporters are advised to plan travel in advance and refrain from bringing their own pyrotechnics or flares to ensure the safety of all attendees. As Liverpool also hosts the Radio 1 Big Weekend, the city is anticipated to be extremely busy leading up to the parade.
Liverpool Football Club will cover the full costs of the parade, which is being coordinated by the City Council’s Culture Liverpool team, known for their successful organization of previous victory parades and major events like Eurovision 2023 and Radio 1 Big Weekend this year.
Councillor Liam Robinson expressed excitement over the upcoming celebration, highlighting that the parade is more than just about football, it symbolizes the pride, passion, and community spirit of the city. Chief Inspector Chris Barnes assured that necessary precautions will be in place to ensure the event runs smoothly and safely, urging residents to familiarize themselves with the route and make alternative travel arrangements in advance to minimize disruptions. The parade on Monday, 26 May, is expected to be a memorable event for players, the club, the city, and all the fans gathered to support their team
