A recent police raid on a flat in Crewe Road Gardens in Edinburgh led to the seizure of a firearm and the arrest of three individuals on charges related to drugs and firearms offenses. Two men, aged 41 and 61, along with a 17-year-old girl, are set to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court following the raid. Police Scotland disclosed that the arrests were part of their ongoing investigations into various crimes across the east and west of the country.

Authorities have been investigating a possible connection between assaults, shootings, and fire-raisings in both cities. For instance, there were videos of fires being posted online, and in one week alone in April, six addresses in Glasgow and its surrounding neighborhoods were targeted by suspected arsonists. Police are exploring whether a recent deliberate fire in Craiglockhart is linked to the disputes between rival gangs.
Detective Chief Superintendent David Ferry of Police Scotland’s specialist crime division issued a statement regarding the recent arrests, emphasizing a continued visible police presence in Pilton. He reassured the community that extensive inquiries are underway as part of the overall investigation into recent incidents in different parts of the country. Anyone with information that could aid the investigation is urged to come forward and assist the authorities.
The chain of events leading to the current gang feud began in early March when a car was set on fire in Parrotshot near The Jewel. Subsequently, a beauty salon in Leith and a garage in Portobello were targeted in separate incidents. Reports of shots being fired at properties in Niddrie and Pilton followed, escalating the tensions. Additional firebomb attacks on a house in Niddrie and various other businesses and homes in Glasgow and its suburbs have further intensified the situation. As investigations continue, authorities are also looking into assaults on a 72-year-old woman and a 12-year-old boy in Milton, Glasgow, from the previous week
