Police officials have issued a warning to the public regarding a missing patient who is considered to be a danger. Vasile Coceban, aged 36, escaped from a mental health facility in north-west London on Wednesday morning around 10:30 BST. Described as a white male, approximately 5ft 4in, with average build and brown hair, members of the public are urged not to approach him, but instead contact emergency services immediately.
Metropolitan Police has released images of Mr. Coceban from the day he disappeared, showcasing him in a purple camouflage hooded top and grey tracksuit bottoms. It is suspected that he has acquired a large black rucksack and changed his clothing to a grey tracksuit top and a red t-shirt. Detectives believe he may still be in north-west London, particularly in the Brent area, but he could have used the rail network to travel to Hyde Park and back.
Detective Superintendent Andrew Brien has confirmed that extensive searches have been conducted in the vicinity where Mr. Coceban was last seen. However, authorities are seeking the public’s assistance in ensuring their safety. There is a possibility that Vasile may be camping or sleeping rough around the Kilburn area or nearby locations, so residents are advised to check sheds, gardens, and remain vigilant while in parks or open spaces. The priority remains to safely return him to the mental health facility for proper treatment
