Talbot Green murder: Seventh person charged after woman shot dead

In connection with the fatal shooting of a 40-year-old woman in a flat, a seventh individual has made an appearance in court. Joanne Penney was discovered severely injured at Green Park in Talbot Green, Rhondda Cynon Taf, on March 9th, leading to her immediate passing at the scene. Prior to this latest development, six individuals – five facing murder charges and one charged with aiding them – had been held in custody pending trial.

Sai Raj Manne, aged 25 and without a permanent address, has now been formally accused of involvement in the activities of an organised criminal group and made an appearance at Cardiff Crown Court on Wednesday. Despite appearing via video link from HMP Hewell in Worcestershire, Manne did not offer a plea during the hearing. Judge Tracey Lloyd-Clarke has consolidated his case with that of the other six defendants, scheduling a pre-trial session for July 7th, followed by the commencement of the trial on October 20th.

During an initial inquest held in March, it was revealed that Ms. Penney succumbed to her injuries after sustaining a gunshot wound to the chest, resulting in damage to her heart and lung. A bereaved statement from Penney’s family expressed profound devastation over their loss, commemorating her unwavering kindness, resilience, and affection for her loved ones.
