Authorities in Bishopbriggs are currently looking into the possibility that two recent fire-raising attacks on homes in the area may be connected to an ongoing turf war between rival gangs. The incidents took place at Colston Drive and John Marshall Drive in the early hours of Monday morning, prompting a response from Police Scotland.
Thankfully, no injuries were reported as emergency services quickly arrived to extinguish the flames. However, both cases are being treated as deliberate acts of arson, adding to a string of similar incidents in both Edinburgh and Glasgow that have been tied to organized crime groups with longstanding feuds.
Alarming videos depicting the fires have surfaced online, alongside warnings targeting families allegedly involved in criminal activities. The escalating violence has seen multiple properties across Scotland set ablaze, prompting authorities to consider the interconnectedness of these attacks. In just one week, six properties in the west of Scotland were targeted, with three houses in Glasgow burning on April 7th and a business in Bishopbriggs targeted the following day.
Police efforts have intensified in response to the uptick in deliberate fires, as well as recent gun-related incidents in Edinburgh. Detectives are determined to apprehend those responsible for these dangerous acts swiftly and have been combing through extensive CCTV footage for leads.
