Hills reopen to walkers after extreme wildfire alert ends

The recent wildfire on the Isle of Arran has left a devastating mark on the landscapes of Glen Rosa. Hillwalking routes on the island have just reopened, three days after the fire broke out. Volunteers were stationed over the weekend to ensure that people stayed away from danger zones leading to Glen Rosa, Goat Fell, and Glen Sannox. At the peak of the operation, nine fire appliances were deployed to the scene. Police Scotland confirmed the successful extinguishing of the fire near Moffat on Sunday morning.
