Kevin Dorward, 38, of Annfield Plain, has been charged with murder in connection to the incident, while Michaela Hetherington, 35, also of Annfield Plain, faces charges of perverting the course of justice. Both suspects are in custody and are scheduled to appear at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates’ Court later this week.
Additionally, a 21-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder, and a 20-year-old man along with a 49-year-old woman have been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. All three individuals are currently in police custody. The family of the deceased continue to receive support from specialized family liaison officers during this difficult time.
