Husband jailed for 'frenzied' murder of woman in Dewsbury

Chloe Aslett of BBC News, Yorkshire reported on a tragic incident that occurred in West Yorkshire where Wahib Albaradan murdered his wife, Salam Alshara, in a brutal attack at their home on Dearnley Street, Dewsbury. The court heard that the 37-year-old used multiple bladed weapons to inflict over 20 injuries on the 27-year-old mother of four following an argument. Despite initially denying the murder for over a year, Albaradan eventually admitted to the crime on the day his trial was set to begin.

The prosecution revealed disturbing details of the attack, including the presence of a full baby bottle near where the violence started, indicating that Alshara may have been feeding their infant when she was attacked. Judge Guy Kearl described Albaradan as a jealous and controlling husband who bullied, threatened, and manipulated his wife, leading to this tragic outcome. As a result, Albaradan was sentenced to life in prison with a minimum term of 19 years and six months.
