Introspekt to release debut album ‘Moving The Center’ via Tempa

Introspekt, the LA-born, New York-based DJ and producer, has recently announced the upcoming release of her debut album titled ‘Moving The Center’ through Tempa on June 20. This highly anticipated LP will showcase a unique blend of weighty soundsystem styles like garage and dubstep, combined with sultry sounds such as ballroom and Baltimore club, reflecting Introspekt’s evolution in the music scene over the past few years.

With ‘Moving The Center’, Introspekt aims to explore transatlantic club sounds from the Black diaspora and present them through a Black transsexual lesbian lens. By bridging genres and eras, she emphasizes the Black, queer roots of dance music, challenging the traditional perceptions of dubstep as a masculinist sensibility and highlighting a feminine physicality in bass music. This album marks the first full-length release on Tempa since Horsepower Production’s ‘Crooks, Crime & Corruption’ in 2016.

In addition to the album release, Introspekt has also confirmed several festival appearances for the year, including Gottwood, Waterworks, and Madruga in the UK. Her lead single, ‘The Transmission’, is already available, blending throbbing bassweight with eerie synths and atmospheric percussion. Fans can listen to ‘The Transmission’ and view the album artwork, with the option to pre-save the album via a provided link.
