Easter holidays – Liverpool’s libraries have you covered

Liverpool libraries are offering a variety of activities for families to enjoy during the Easter holidays. From Easter egg hunts to shadow puppet workshops and storytelling sessions, there is something for everyone to participate in. Positive Pathways will be hosting a community day at St John’s Gardens on Thursday, April 17th from 12-4pm, featuring an egg hunt and various activities at Central Library including Lego building, STEAM Engineers workshops, and advice on weight control and diet for young people.

Children can get creative by devising their own characters and stories at shadow puppetry workshops taking place throughout the Easter break. The workshops will culminate in a celebratory puppet showcase at Central Library on May 10th. Dates and locations for the workshops vary, so families have multiple opportunities to participate and create their own puppets.

In addition to the arts and crafts activities, storytelling sessions will be held at Central Library. These sessions include readings from Jude Lennon, Tina Freeman, Ma Bailey, and author Angela Ackah-McIntyre. The library will also host two exhibitions focusing on Liverpool’s innovative approaches to theatre and the rich history of the Liverpool Empire Theatre.

For those interested in history, there are exhibitions on the electrification of the Liverpool and Southport Railway Line in March 1904 and Liverpool Olympia 120. These exhibitions offer a glimpse into the past and celebrate significant milestones in Liverpool’s history.
