A massive fire at an industrial estate in North Lanarkshire has resulted in six individuals being hospitalized. According to BBC News, two people are receiving treatment for severe burns, while the other four were admitted due to smoke inhalation. The incident took place at the Blairlinn Industrial Estate in Cumbernauld at 14:35, with a single-story structure engulfed in flames.

Emergency services quickly responded to the scene, dispatching six fire engines to the industrial estate to tackle the blaze. As a precautionary measure, some nearby buildings were evacuated. The extent of the damage caused by the fire is still being assessed.

The Scottish Ambulance Service reported that five patients were transported to Glasgow Royal Infirmary, while another was taken to University Hospital Monklands. They deployed a significant number of resources, including six ambulances, three special operations response teams, and various other medical units to deal with the situation effectively.

In the wake of the fire, the local community was advised by Police Scotland to remain indoors and keep their windows shut, particularly in the Greenfaulds area of Cumbernauld. Additionally, Scottish Water issued a warning about potential water supply issues, such as low pressure and discolored water, affecting residents in the vicinity of the industrial estate
