​Daft Punk announce ABBA-style ‘Voyager’ hologram arena in Paris

Daft Punk has revealed their intention to launch a groundbreaking hologram arena show in Paris, reminiscent of the ABBA Voyage experience. This show will feature digital avatars of Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo, set to a new live show soundtrack. Named Daft Punk Voyager, the venue and audio-visual experience pay homage to the duo’s iconic track ‘Voyager’ from the album ‘Discovery’.

Despite their split four years ago, Daft Punk continues to surprise fans with new projects and releases. The French duo, known for their robot personas, will be depicted in their signature attire from the early 2000s. Daft Punk Voyager is set to open in 2026 on Rue Deux-D-Deux in Central Paris, marking the 25th anniversary of the ‘Discovery’ album. This cutting-edge experience is said to cost approximately €5.555 million, with support from the French tourism board and Cyberdyne Systems.

In a bold move, ABBA has entered a technological copyright agreement with Daft Punk, endorsing the hologram show. Benny Andersson of ABBA expressed excitement for the venture, citing a shared love of club culture. Directed and produced by Roy Batty, Daft Punk Voyager promises a three-hour performance featuring re-recorded tracks and motion-captured holograms of the iconic duo. Thomas Bangalter of Daft Punk expressed enthusiasm for the project, highlighting the opportunity to immortalize their legacy in their hometown
