The council has recently completed a project planting twelve Christmas trees across different locations in the borough in preparation for upcoming festive celebrations. Despite the spring season, the council is already gearing up for the Christmas events which play a significant role in bringing communities together for celebrations. These events also act as a welcome boost to footfall for local traders. Paul Bradley highlighted the importance of planning ahead by stating, “Although it is spring, we are already planning for our Christmas events, which bring communities together to celebrate and are a welcome boost to footfall for our traders.” By planting these rooted, permanent trees now, the council aims to provide a lasting impact on public spaces while also promoting eco-conscious alternatives for future seasonal displays.
The upcoming Christmas switch-on events are scheduled to take place in different locations across the borough. Halesowen will kick-off the celebrations on 15 November, followed by Brierley Hill and Stourbridge on 22 November, Sedgley on 23 November, and Dudley on 6 December. These events are anticipated to draw in crowds and create a festive atmosphere for residents to enjoy.
