A man who harbored a deep-seated anger towards women has been sentenced for a brutal attack on two friends at a beach in Bournemouth. Nasen Saadi, a 21-year-old criminology student, was given a minimum term of 39 years for the murder of Amie Gray and the attempted murder of Leanne Miles on Durley Chine Beach last year. The victims, aged 34 and 38, were targeted by Saadi, who was described at Winchester Crown Court as a “social misfit” seeking empowerment through his violent actions.
During the sentencing hearing, Judge Mrs Justice Cutts suggested that Saadi’s actions were motivated by feelings of humiliation and rejection towards women. The prosecutor, Sarah Jones KC, stated that the murder was premeditated, with misogyny possibly driving the defendant’s behavior. The court heard evidence of Saadi’s troubled relationship with women, including an incident in which he sexually touched himself in his prison cell while asking about the case’s publicity.
