During a recent court hearing, it was revealed that a man, identified as Alexander Dighton, has pleaded guilty to attempting to kill a police officer outside a police station in south Wales. The attack was reportedly motivated by anti-government beliefs, with Dighton representing himself in court. Apart from the attempted murder charge, he also faced six other charges related to the incident, which left three officers injured, two of whom had to be hospitalized.
Following the altercation at Talbot Green police station, Ch Supt Stephen Jones confirmed that the injured officers have since been released from the hospital, though they were understandably shaken by the experience. Dighton’s plea included charges of attempted arson, assault on two other police officers, and threatening a third officer. Despite being offered legal representation, Dighton had opted to proceed without a lawyer, expressing his disdain for the legal profession during an earlier hearing.
