Laurence Fox charged over Narinder Kaur upskirting image

Actor and politician Laurence Fox has been charged with a sexual offence after allegedly sharing an intimate image of TV star Narinder Kaur without her consent on social media. Kaur, a broadcaster who appears on Good Morning Britain and GB News, was a victim of ‘upskirting’ when Fox shared the image in April 2024. The incident left Kaur feeling “unimaginably mortified,” as she expressed in a post.

Despite the public backlash, Fox issued an apology to Kaur the following day, claiming that he was not responsible for the compromising photo being taken over 15 years ago. The 46-year-old from Peldon, Essex, did not take the image himself, prompting an investigation by the police. Following a one-month inquiry, Fox has been charged with a sexual offence and is scheduled to appear in court next month.

According to a spokesperson from the Metropolitan Police, the charge against Fox is in relation to section 66A of the Sexual Offences Act 2003. Those convicted of upskirting can face up to two years in prison for capturing images or videos underneath someone’s clothing without their consent. It is also illegal to distribute such images taken by others, highlighting the seriousness of the offense and the importance of consent in sharing personal images on social media platforms
