Newborn baby discovered dead in bag at Notting Hill church

In a tragic and distressing discovery, the body of a newborn baby was found in west London, as confirmed by the Metropolitan Police. The incident took place at Powis Gardens in Notting Hill, where officers were alerted at 12:46 GMT on Tuesday after a report came in about a baby’s body found in a bag outside All Saints Church. The London Ambulance Service arrived on the scene, but sadly the baby was pronounced dead.

Authorities are currently conducting urgent investigations to locate the mother of the baby, whose gender and exact age remain unknown at this time. Superintendent Owen Renowden expressed deep sorrow over the situation, describing it as an extremely sad and shocking matter. He emphasized the immediate priority of finding the baby’s mother, as it is believed she may have recently given birth.

To the mother of the baby, Superintendent Renowden made a heartfelt plea for her to come forward to either the police or medical professionals. He reassured her that they are concerned for her well-being and stressed the importance of receiving medical assistance and support.
