Radiohead rumoured to be going on tour for the first time in seven years

Rumors have been circulating that Radiohead is gearing up for their first tour in seven years, with a source close to the band reportedly claiming that they have made arrangements in select European cities for potential shows in the autumn. Speculation about a tour from the iconic five-piece escalated after tickets for “a Radiohead concert of your choice” were contributed by the band’s management to a charity auction benefiting those impacted by the recent wildfires in LA, organized by Palisades High School.

In a surprising turn of events, the auction listing has since been altered, now offering “Four Premier Concert Tickets” for various high-profile acts as the prize, with bids being reset as a result. Fans also recently noticed that the members of Radiohead established a new Limited Liability Partnership (LLP) called RHEUK25, a move that has traditionally hinted at an upcoming tour, according to Pitchfork. This development mirrors a similar action taken by the band prior to their previous tour in 2018.

Despite the mounting speculation, Radiohead has chosen to remain silent, refusing to succumb to the pressure from eager fans. Frontman Thom Yorke, who recently toured with The Smile alongside Radiohead guitarist Jonny Greenwood, dismissed speculations in a 2024 interview, stating that they have the autonomy to make decisions that align with their interests without needing to justify themselves to anyone. In a separate incident, The Smile had to cancel its European tour after Greenwood fell seriously ill due to an infection, requiring intensive care before being discharged a few days later.

It remains to be seen whether Radiohead will indeed embark on a tour following these developments, keeping their plans shrouded in secrecy despite the fervent anticipation from fans and industry observers. The band’s enigmatic nature and non-conformist approach suggest that any future endeavors will be executed on their terms, with little regard for external expectations or pressures
