The residents of a Liverpool community are uniting for an event that aims to enhance well-being, decrease social isolation, and link individuals with local services. Scheduled to take place at the Wavertree Aquatics Centre on Wednesday, March 26th, 2025, from 10 am to 3 pm, this event will feature the participation of over 16 organizations, including Age Concern, LCC Adult Services, Primary Care Network, House of Memories Bus, Love Wavertree, and Riverside Housing. Attendees will have the opportunity to access a range of services such as free blood pressure checks, housing advice, and benefits support.
Moreover, the event will serve as a platform for residents to establish connections with local services that address issues like social isolation, dementia, and mental health challenges. These services are geared towards enhancing well-being and ensuring that all members of the community have access to the necessary support. Additionally, residents can engage in interactive activities aimed at fostering closer relationships, such as shared reading sessions with The Reader, pickleball, and cardio tennis at the Wavertree Tennis Centre.
The collaborative effort between the City Council and local organizations underscores a collective commitment to strengthen community support networks and ensure that residents have access to essential services. Speaking about the event, Cllr Laura Robertson-Collins, Liverpool City Council’s Cabinet Member for Communities, Neighbourhoods, and Streetscene, emphasized the broader significance of the gathering. She stated, “This event is more than just services. It’s about people, connection, and belonging. We want to ensure that everyone in Wavertree feels supported and empowered, and we invite all residents to attend, meet new people, and explore the resources available to them.
