The Science Based Targets Network, which falls under the Climate Action Network, has introduced a way for ocean industries to set science-based targets that align with the goals of the Paris Agreement.
“The natural climate solutions and sustainable fisheries we need to meet the Paris goals exist – and the demand for them is real,” said Science Based Targets Network director Alexander Farsan.
“Science Based Targets for Nature will get us on the right track for a world that provides for life in all its diversity and glory.”
Founding signatories of the initiative include the World Wildlife Fund, Pew Charitable Trusts and the Ocean Risk and Resilience Action Alliance.
