To commemorate 40 years of comedy and entertainment, Red Nose Day is gearing up for a live TV extravaganza filled with sketches and live performances in support of the Comic Relief charity. Taking place in Salford and broadcast on Friday night, the event will see iconic shows such as Strictly Come Dancing, Gladiators, and Beyond Paradise receiving the Red Nose Day treatment. Spearheaded by a group of presenters including Davina McCall, Rylan Clark, and Alison Hammond, the night promises to be a memorable one.
Among the notable personalities gracing the stage are AJ Odudu, Joel Dommett, Alesha Dixon, and Tom Allen. The live show is scheduled to air on BBC One at 19:00 GMT and on BBC Two at 22:00 GMT. Not just limited to the broadcast, fundraising activities have been unfolding throughout the week with various well-known figures participating. Jaime Laing, the BBC Radio 1 presenter, has been showcasing his endurance by completing an ultra-marathon everyday for five consecutive days. Additionally, Morning Live hosts Gethin Jones and Helen Skelton engaged in a 24-hour roller disco challenge.
In a blend of comedy sketches, this year’s Red Nose Day show will witness unique collaborations such as the combination of Not Going Out and Beyond Paradise for the first time. Featuring Sally Bretton in dual roles, the crossover is set to bring together characters from both series. The lineup also includes a comedic fusion of People Just Do Nothing and Gladiators as Chabuddy G from the former attempts to integrate with the athletic stars of the latter. Moreover, fans can look forward to a special Inbetweeners reunion with James Buckley and Joe Thomas channeling the Gallagher brothers in a parody of Oasis’ rise to fame.
