Cast confirmed for Charli xcx’s A24 “mockumentary” The Moment

The upcoming film “The Moment,” by Charli xcx, has announced its cast members, including Alexander Skarsgård, Jamie Demetriou, and Rosanna Arquette. Described as a “mockumentary” by A24, the film will depict a pop star’s journey leading up to her first headline arena tour and offer an inside look at the music industry’s inner workings and how subculture evolves with commercial success.

Filming for the project reportedly began in London this week, with new cast additions such as Skarsgård playing a “fashionable European creative,” Arquette as a “label boss,” and Trew Mullen as Charli’s personal assistant. Also added to the cast are Jamie Demetriou, Rish Shah, Isaac Cole Powell, and Kate Berlant.

Charli xcx’s original idea birthed “The Moment,” where she will star in and co-produce the film under her production company Studio365. The film, first announced in January, will feature a soundtrack by A.G Cook and be directed by Aidan Zamiri and co-written by Bertie Brandes. Charli has been involved in other acting projects this year, including “100 Nights of Hero,” “Faces of Death,” “Erupcja,” and “Sacrifice.”
