Liverpool City Council is pleased to welcome Edna Boampong as their new Director of Communications and Engagement starting in May. She brings over 20 years of experience in designing and leading strategic communication and engagement programs, having worked at senior levels in various public sector organizations.
With a background in service transformation and public health, Edna’s expertise lies in resident and community engagement, behavior change initiatives, and both external and internal communications. She is eager to collaborate with partners across the city to address social, economic, and environmental factors affecting residents’ health and well-being while highlighting Liverpool’s cultural heritage.
Edna expressed her excitement about joining the council and emphasized her commitment to engaging with residents and communities to ensure their voices are heard and their needs are met. She also looks forward to promoting the council’s equality objectives and supporting its goal of becoming an anti-racist organization.
Chief Executive Andrew Lewis praised Edna’s track record and ambitious plans for shaping how the council informs and engages residents. He believes she will have a significant positive impact when she begins her role on May 6th at the Council’s headquarters in the Cunard Building.
