Ja Rule, the US rapper who co-organized the disastrous Fyre Festival in 2017 with convicted fraudster Billy McFarland, recently announced that he will not be attending the reboot edition of the festival set to take place in Mexico this summer. In a 2019 tweet, Ja Rule defended himself by stating that he had a unique vision for the festival and denied any intention to scam or defraud anyone. Nevertheless, tickets for Fyre Festival 2 went on sale last month, revealing the purported real location and dates for the reboot edition on Isla Mujeres, located off the coast of Mexico, from May 30 to June 2, 2025. Despite these announcements, locals and tourism officials on Isla Mujeres have refuted any knowledge of the event, with tourism directorate Edgar Gasca stating, “We have no knowledge of this event, nor contact with any person or company about it.
