Blackwood: Eight men deny violence in barbers 'turf war'

A violent incident outside a barbershop in Blackwood High Street has led to eight men denying charges of violent disorder. The court heard about a “barbers’ turf war” last month, where violence erupted at around 14:45 GMT on 13 February. The disagreement stemmed from a potential opening of a new barbershop in nearby Newbridge, sparking the altercation.

The defendants, who appeared at Cardiff Crown Court, all pleaded not guilty to the charge of violent disorder. Despite being granted conditional bail, a trial date has been set for 9 March next year. The eight individuals facing charges are Alan Karimi, Shahab Husseini, Bave Hamed, Krmanj Sadiq, Bryar Muradi, Omed Pirot, Adnan Mohamad, and Sardam Ebrahimi.

Authorities were called to the scene on Blackwood High Street following the outbreak of violence. The case sheds light on the dangers associated with disputes in commercial areas, highlighting the need for resolution through peaceful means. As the legal proceedings progress, more details are expected to emerge about the events leading up to the confrontation between the individuals involved in the incident
