A young man named Hassan Sentamu has been sentenced to spend at least 23 years in prison for the murder of 15-year-old Elianne Andam. The tragic incident occurred outside a shopping center in Croydon, south London in September 2023. Sentamu, who was 17 at the time of the attack, used a kitchen knife to repeatedly stab Elianne in a confrontation over a teddy bear.
During the sentencing at the Old Bailey, Mrs. Justice Cheema-Grubb emphasized the immeasurable pain felt by Elianne’s family due to her untimely death. According to the judge, Elianne’s life was cut short, and she will never have the opportunity to fulfill her potential.
