In a significant development for Liverpool’s Knowledge Quarter, a construction firm has been selected to oversee the creation of a state-of-the-art laboratory and workspace complex. HEMISPHERE One is a substantial £61 million project that will cover a total of 117,190 square feet at Paddington Village, a key site within the city’s innovation district.
Planned as a two-part endeavor, HEMISPHERE One is just the first phase of the ambitious project, with HEMISPHERE Two set to follow suit. The combined space will offer a sprawling 216,693 square feet dedicated to various specialized labs such as chemistry, data, bio, and innovation labs. Additionally, provisions will be made for incubator space, commercial lab space, and areas for growth.
The procurement process for HEMISPHERE Two is expected to be managed separately at a later stage. Working in collaboration with Sciontec, construction company Morgan Sindall will assist in finalizing technical designs to ensure a seamless transition into the construction phase. Construction is slated to kick off in the Autumn season.
