£29.00Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, has taken legal action against a woman who previously accused him and Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs of rape, as reported by The Washington Post. The lawsuit, filed on March 3, addresses an Alabama woman referred to as Jane Doe, who claimed she was assaulted by both men at the age of 13. The original complaint was dismissed recently.
In addition to suing the woman, Carter’s lawsuit also targets the plaintiff’s attorneys, Tony Buzbee and David Fortney, alleging that they colluded with the accuser to extort money from Carter. The lawsuit contends that the defendants were well aware of the falsity of the accusations and were driven by greed.
According to The Washington Post, the lawsuit accuses the woman of deliberately timing her accusation to cause maximum harm to Mr. Carter, showing a complete disregard for the truth and basic human decency. The suit further claims that the woman confessed to Carter’s representatives that the allegations were false and was coerced by lawyer Tony Buzbee to fabricate the story for personal gain.
In response to the lawsuit, Buzbee stated to TWP that the attributed quotes from the accuser are either fabricated or based on someone other than Jane Doe. He dismissed the legal action as an attempt to intimidate and harass the woman, pledging not to be deterred by such tactics. The case initially involved allegations against Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, which later included Jay-Z in December. The woman voluntarily withdrew her complaint in February with prejudice, precluding her from filing the same lawsuit again. Both artists have adamantly denied the accusations made against them
