What went right this week: the good news that matters

rtification/organic-market-report/” target=”_blank” rel=”noopener”>report by the Soil Association revealed that sales of organic food and drink rose by 11% in 2024, reaching £3.2bn – a 45% increase on figures from 2019.

Some of the increase may be due to shoppers looking for sustainably and ethically produced food, but the report also suggests that people are increasingly prioritising the quality and provenance of goods they buy.

Soil Association CEO Clare McDermott said: “It’s clear that people are looking for a better way to eat, prioritising food quality and authenticity, as well as concern for climate and nature.”
