The late Avicii’s close collaborator Sandro Cavazza has spoken out against the potential release of unreleased material from the late producer in a new interview with+ Pophouse Magazine.

Cavazza emphasized that only Avicii could decide when tracks were ready for release and that he does not feel comfortable releasing any music that hasn’t been approved by the original composer himself. He also expressed his wish that Avicii’s family, record label, and management respect his decision and consider what the most respectful way to treat Avicii’s memory is.

The issue of releasing posthumous music has been a topic of debate since Avicii’s death in 2018. While there have been rumors of a posthumous album containing unreleased tracks, some collaborators like Carl Falk and Nicky Romero have expressed moral concerns about working on music that Avicii had not approved.

In 2020, Sandro Cavazza and Kygo released ‘Forever Yours (Avicii Tribute)’ with the proceeds donated to the Tim Bergling Foundation, a non-profit organization that supports mental health issues, suicide prevention, and education.

Avicii’s struggle with mental health, anxiety, and alcoholism during his music career has shed light on the challenges faced by artists in the industry. It is essential to respect the wishes of artists regarding the release of their music, even after their passing, to honor their memory and legacy
