The high demand for their bread prompted the establishment of the bakery, with a focus on utilizing locally-sourced ingredients and paying fair wages to their bakers.

Granton Community Gardeners, a charitable organization in a less affluent area of Edinburgh, aims to address food insecurity within the community through their bakery. By offering high-quality bread at affordable prices, they are creating opportunities for individuals who may not have access otherwise.

The ultimate goal of the bakery is to create a hyper-local production system where grain is grown and milled within a small radius to supply the community with thousands of loaves.
