£9.99After operating for nearly six years in Jakarta, Ding Dong Disko, located in the A3000 Creative Compound in South Jakarta, has permanently closed its doors. This venue has been known for being a hotspot for both underground and mainstream music, establishing itself as a key player in the city’s nightlife scene. Founded by the Indonesian dance music collective 3000 Group, Ding Dong Disko didn’t provide a specific reason for its closure but bid farewell on social media last month.
Described as a unique “retro-futuristic” establishment that functions as both a bar and club, Ding Dong Disko has been a fixture in Jakarta since 2019. Throughout its tenure, the venue has hosted various international acts, including Central, Sunju Hargun, Matisa, Manfredas, Ivan Smagghe, and Budino. Before its closure, Ding Dong Disko organized a month-long farewell celebration to honor its legacy while looking ahead to what the future holds.
The farewell celebration at Ding Dong Disko featured a lineup that showcased the diverse sounds that have reverberated through the venue over the years. Beginning on February 7 with Phunktion, Indonesia’s longest-running drum ‘n’ bass night by Javabass Soundsystem, the events also included performances by artists like MAAD, Droopy, Los Chicos, Kraus, Pak Kardiman, Shafa, Trisa, and Nasha. Notable appearances at the final event on February 15 included Jasper James, as well as Tripo 3000 residents Kana and Mayo, among others.
From 2019 to 2025, Ding Dong Disko played an essential role in Jakarta’s electronic music landscape, hosting a wide array of local and international talent while cultivating a diverse community of music lovers across genres. Additionally, the 3000 Group, behind the creation of Ding Dong Disko, has been influential in shaping Jakarta’s club culture by establishing A3000 Creative Compound as a space for community-driven events and creative collaborations
